UPDATE: 106 customers without power east of Highway 5

Power was restored at 1 a.m.

Update Thursday, 9:08 a.m.: Power was restored for 106 customers in the East Blackpool area at 1 a.m. this morning after trees had fallen onto BC Hydro wires late Wednesday evening.

Wednesday, 10:25 p.m.: Crews have arrived on scene and determined the cause to be trees that have fallen onto hydro wires, according to an update to the BC Hydro outage site.

It is estimated power will be restored as early as 12:15 a.m., Thursday, June 16.

Wednesday, 10:01 p.m.: Over 100 BC Hydro customers east of Highway 5 have been without power since 8:54 p.m.

According to the BC Hydro outage page, the outage affects 106 households and crews have been assigned to determine the cause and estimated time until they restore power the area. Their expected to arrive on scene around 10:25 p.m.
