Thompson-Nicola Regional District’s board of directors was pleased to confirm on Dec. 21 that a three-year agreement has been reached with the British Columbia Government Employees Union (BCGEU). The current collective agreement was set to expire on Dec. 31.
The agreement applies to all unionized staff in the TNRD Library System and includes employees who work in libraries throughout the region.
“The board of directors is very pleased with the amicable negotiation process and the favourable outcome;’ said TNRD chair Randy Murray.
The new collective agreement will be in effect from Jan. 1, 2013, through to Dec. 31, 2015. A key element of the new collective agreement is a two per cent raise per year for the three years of the agreement.
