Beginning June 1, 2011, property owners within the District of Barriere can now obtain building permits and request building inspections directly with the District of Barriere office at the Ridge in Barriere, not at the Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) office in Kamloops. However, if you live outside the district boundaries you will continue to work with the TNRD office.
Gerald Allgaier, the new district building inspector, will be available to meet with citizens, and discuss and assist them with permit requirements for the balance of June every Wednesday morning in the District office or, alternatively as arranged, by appointment at other agreed upon times.
The District is sharing the services of Allgaier with the Sun Peaks Resort Municipality.
“The acquisition of our own building inspector for the town will provide an added level of service for Barriere property owners and contractors,” said District of Barriere executive assistant Tasha Buchanan.
