It has been a bit of a roller coaster these past two weeks. With fires threatening our July 13 session and then major thunderstorms on July 20, it has been touch and go for golf.

However, 20 ladies made it out on July 13 to golf in the smoke and heat. We had eight guest golfers – four from the Barriere club and four from Yuma. Hope they don’t think we go through this every year.

We cancelled July 20 because of the heavy rain.

For the July 6 Ladies Night the fun game was “Colored Ball.” The team of Tanya, Jane, Joan Streadwick and Abbey had the best score.

The winners from the July 6 (week 10) Ladies Night were: Flight #1: Tanya Dejarlais – low gross, long drive; Deb Pearce – low net, KP#5; Marg Anderson – long putt. Flight #2: Jane Olson – low net, long putt; Joan Streadwick – low gross; Korinne Isbister - KP#5; Jan Johnston - long drive. Flight #3: Carol McNeil – low gross, long putt.

No one lost their ball in the water hazard. Well done all.

Deb Pearce had the least putts and Carol McNeil was the most honest putter. Deb had a nice chip in but unfortunately the pot was not large. Tanya had a fantastic long putt on #1 for her birdie and it was a decent size pot. Deb also had a KP on hole #7.

On July 27 Ladies night we will be having a “Scotch Scramble” with two-person teams. It will be a 5 p.m. shotgun start so bring snacks if you need nourishment before dinner. Please sign up on the sheet in the club house if you want to play this special game.

Call Carol (674-8771) or Jane (587-6290) if you have any questions about Ladies Night.
