Small cells – big changes

Once the microcell network is in place, we, along with wildlife, will be constantly bombarded

Editor, The Times:

Do you want a cellular transmitter on a utility pole, mere feet from your home? You have no choice, as the Canadian government is allowing telecoms to install these transmitters – called microcells – on existing structures everywhere, without your input or consent. Aesthetics, property value, industry control-for-profit over the public right of way, cyber-security, safety, health, and wellbeing – there are many reasons to be concerned about microcells.

This microcell network is paving the way for 5G - untested frequencies which science shows use human sweat ducts as antennas. Once it is in place, we, along with already compromised wildlife, will be constantly bombarded. There will be no untouched places left.

The end game is no landlines and “smart” everything for all of us, and big bucks through data mining for the telecoms. Don’t be fooled into thinking these technologies are green. The “Cloud” is a huge energy guzzler, while tech production and waste is anything but eco-friendly.

Act Now!

It is crucial you tell your local government to support the resolution on the table at this September’s Union of BC Municipalities’ convention, which demands we have a say in microcell placement.
