It is with heavy hearts that we the family would like to announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, and spouse. Bill was born in Ardrossan, Alberta on February 1, 1936. He lived throughout the Northwest Territories for a lot of his life and settled in Avola, British Columbia in 1979. He loved being in Avola although his heart was also in the north and he spoke of it often.
Bill passed away peacefully on October 1, 2016 at the age of 80. William was survived by his stepmother Lilly Lorenzen, brothers Dave, Jim, and Doug Lorenzen, his sister Laura Blaker, also his children Darcy, Beverly, Patrick, Laura and Ester. He will be missed by his spouse Patricia Leschuk, and the many grandchildren, nephews and nieces whom he loved endlessly.
Bill was predeceased by his father and mother Frank and Eunice Lorenzen, brother Leonard Lorenzen and son Jimmy Lorenzen.
Bill Lorenzen lived a long and happy life; he had many passions and worked hard all of his life. He loved to brew wines and spirits which he shared amongst his many friends and family, he loved to celebrate life. His greatest passion though was to operate equipment and help out his friends and neighbours in any way he could. He was truly loved by many far and wide.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, home care and staff from Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, also to his many friends and neighbours who helped him in his final years of life, we know in our hearts how much he appreciated and loved you all.
