Lorne was born on March 15, 1938 in Hubbard Saskatchewan to Otto and Gertrude Barber. After a lengthy illness on October 30, 2021 Dad left with the angels to a higher calling.
Lorne was predeceased by his loving wife Madeline in 2016. He is survived by his daughters Brenda Barber (Andy) of Clearwater BC and Debi Ormondy (Randy) of Clearwater BC.
Lorne has 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Lorne attended "The Yorkton Collegiate Institute" and right out of high school Dad started his career with Sask. Tel as a lineman and eventually becoming microwave technician in the Yukon This eventually brought him to Clearwater BC.
Lorne loved his family! He loved the spirit of the children around him. He was often referred to as the "Big Bear" but a "Gentle Big Bear" he was. Lorne also loved model airplanes, boats and ham radios! His articulate personality allowed him to construct model radio-controlled airplanes. Ham Radio construction was another hobby he enjoyed. It allowed him to build a radio from scratch then talk to people all over the world.
Lorne's urn is now beside Madeline's in Riverview Cemetery, Clearwater, BC. Condolences may be sent to the family at DrakeCremation.com
