In Loving Memory of

Frances Mae McRae (McNabb) (Nee Hulton)

February 5, 1927 – June 6, 2016

On the evening of June 6, 2016, Fran McRae’s Spirit Guide came to her Clearwater, BC home to take her on her final journey. With family present to say thank you and we love you, her heart beat its last time. She passed quickly and quietly from this world, as was her wish and hope.

Born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on February 5, 1927, Fran is survived by her sons, Ken McNabb (Sue), Darryl McRae (Pearl), Neil McRae (Carole) and Dale McRae (Zena); daughters Barb McRae, Cheryl Thomas (Jim), Jean Bonner, Cathy McNabb and Lea McNabb (Mark); grandchildren Kim (Gary), Scott (Krista), Jason (Brandy), Harley, Andrea, Travis, Daina (Jodi), Kelsey (Colin), Wynona (Gord), Jada (Jody), Stacey (Will), Marshal (Samantha) and Becky (Daniel); Jodi (Rick), Jackie (Nick), Carly (Geoff); Cadence (Joseph), Nelson; 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Fran was predeceased by her first love, Hugh McNabb of Skeetchestn, love of her life Archie McRae of Clearwater, daughter – June Beth McRae of Watrous, SK and sister – Patricia Findlay of 100 Mile House, BC.

Although she started out as a child of nature, Fran grew to become a student in the school of life. Her love of life led her to a life of many passions. First and foremost was her family, created by her two marriages. Her love of animals meant a menagerie of creatures came in and out of the house. She loved to read and learn about her many interests. Fran’s passion for gardening kept the family fed and stemmed from her deep concerns for the environment. Her creative spirit produced many artistic wonders, including sketches, paintings, stuffed creatures and paper tole. Her fondness for a good cup of tea will be a happy memory for everyone – friends and family alike. Fran also gave her time, skill and care as member of several organizations, including the Friendly Club of Clearwater, the Wells Gray Seniors’ Society, North Thompson Arts Council and the Yellowhead Ecological Association.

A Service to Remember the Life of Fran McRae will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Evergreen Place Hall, Clearwater, BC, with Mr. Lloyd Strickland presiding. Contributions in Fran’s memory would be appreciated to the North Thompson Communities Foundation, Box 121, Clearwater, BC, V0E 1N0.
