A crew from Borrow Enterprises, overseen by workers from the District of Clearwater, are working on a waterline break on Young Rd. between Lodge Dr. and Old North Thompson Highway.

A call went in at roughly 9:15 p.m. the evening of May 22 and work began at about 10:30 p.m. with a brief water shutoff for some residents west of Lodge Dr. in the areas of Sunshine Valley and Grizzly Heights.

The damage was due to wear and tear on a two inch service line that was installed in 1976.

Work will continue throughout most of May 23 and is expected to be completed by the end of the day.

“We’ve done our due diligence and taken a water sample, it’s been sent off to Kamloops today and we don’t anticipate any issues,” said Leslie Groulx, chief administrative officer for the District of Clearwater.

“It’ll be fixed by the end of the day and because it’s a service line, we shouldn’t have to turn any water off.”
