The world is now overflowing with technology.

We have it all around us in so many different forms that it is mind boggling! Is there a single room in your home that has nothing electric and/or computerized?

Heck, most of us have a TV or possibly computer tablet to read on now in the bedroom even. The bathroom has now some forms such as beauty appliances, blow-dryers … etc.

Tooth brushes and electric razors live in most homes as well. We rely on many of these things just to function in our lives.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the convenience that many of these things bring to make our lives go more smoothly.

Who doesn’t like a fridge or electric stove and a computer? Many forms of entertainment can be found that include hi-tech stuff too.

I would like to bring up the topic of unplugging. What? Yes, I know we may have no idea how to truly do that for any length of time anymore … I am not even remotely suggesting that … not to worry.

I have heard that first of all you are charged … although minimal amounts apparently … for each appliance you have plugged into a socket ... even when they are off?

This is hearsay mind you, but the source was pretty reliable.

Now how do you like the idea? It doesn’t sound so bad when you can save some of your hard-earned dough right?

Of course, there are less electrical particles and ions and such in the air we breathe also…. This gets better and better hmmm?

Lastly, there is the importance found in unplugging yourself from all of that and, actually, looking away from that lit up screen to really take in your world more clearly.

At least periodically. I recently tried it during some holiday time and it was amazing.

You do need to be sure to warn a few people in advance though. It has a calming effect on your spirit … I know it sounds sappy … haha … I know you can probably Google the health benefits involved too.

It is naturally wise to keep updated on emergency news services during down time too. I think that maybe so many people love camping and fishing for the same reasons….

We all wish we had that kind of time to enjoy those more, but you could try baby steps and unplug a few things you aren’t using every day, play some cards and chat instead of TV, even go visit friends, a walk maybe.

You don’t have to do anything too drastic, but keep in mind that there is all that gigantic world out there on the other side of that electronic device.

Take a peek.
