Charity Lipp wears a paintbrush in her hair as she and her son, Bryton Lipp, refresh the paint on the wooden cutouts of salmon on the fence next to the Clearwater River bridge on Old North Thompson Highway. The pair were out on Sunday morning and more volunteers with more paint are expected later in the day, she said. The painted fish were class projects inspired by Bob Cuming, a former Clearwater teacher who passed away in 2013, she pointed out. “It would be horrible if we lost them,” she said.
