The North Thompson Times reports on the people and events of Clearwater, Blue River, Avola, Vavenby, Birch Island, Upper Clearwater, Blackpool, East Blackpool, Roundtop and Wells Gray Park. A weekly community newspaper, it has been the paper of record for the Upper North Thompson Valley since 1964.
Published every Thursday, the Times is a subscription-based tab with a circulation of about 1,250.
In 2011 the Canadian Community Newspaper Association awarded the Times first place for best all round newspaper and first place for best editorial page in its circulation class. The Times won second place for best all round newspaper from CCNA in 2013 and 2005. It won third place for best editorial page in 2013 and second place for best front page from CCNA in 2005.
It won first place for general excellence from BCYCNA in 2010 and 2006. Is has been a top-three finalist nine times in general excellence with BCYCNA during the 15 years that Black Press has owned the newspaper.
