The North Thompson Times reports on the people and events of Clearwater, Blue River, Avola, Vavenby, Birch Island, Upper Clearwater, Blackpool, East Blackpool, Roundtop and Wells Gray Park. A weekly community newspaper, it has been the paper of record for the Upper North Thompson Valley since 1964.
Published every Monday, the Times is a subscription-based tab with a circulation of about 1,250.
In 2011 the Canadian Community Newspaper Association awarded the Times first place for best all round newspaper and first place for best editorial page in its circulation class. The newspaper also placed second for general excellence in its circulation class with B.C. and Yukon Community Newspaper Association.
The Times won second place for best all round newspaper and second place for best front page from CCNA in 2005. It won first place for general excellence from BCYCNA in 2010 and 2006. Is has been a top-three finalist eight times with BCYCNA during the 13 years Black Press has owned the newspaper.
